Christmas Day question

I have an acquaintance who won't be able to spend Christmas with his immediate family out of town as he usually does. This has him somewhat down. Any ideas on public places we might be able to go on Saturday that would really give him that spirit of Christmas? He isn't a church-goer, so that's out. Just a place where he can feel the warmth and joy of the season.

Edit: He is an older man, so I am thinking about more traditional activities.
