Also, I telecommute and often move huge amounts of data to/from work (mostly video). Comcast called me and threatened to cut off my service for using too much bandwidth while Verizon sold me an unlimited bandwidth package and promised never to cut me off.

The service has been excellent - no drop in bandwidth when everybody and their mother logs on after work - and when I call with issues, the customer service has been good. Both technicians that were sent out to my houses were professional and good little worker bees. The price is comparable, but I feel like you get more and better stuff for your money. I think maybe a handful of times my internet was slow, but it never lasted very long. I've had no problems with the Tv service. We have cable cards in our Tivo instead of the set top boxes.
We refuse to move to an area without FiOS service. :)

And I don't think I've had an outage that's lasted for more then 90 minutes or so, and usually those happen in the middle of the night (like 3 or 4am) and they've never correlated with weather or anything, so I chalk it up to equipment upgrades. And even that's only happened 2 or 3 times that I've noticed.
The Short of it is - FiOS has been the best internet connection I've had since I had my own commercial T1 more than 12 years ago.
