A Friendly Reminder
Hi, guys!
A friendly reminder to new people to this community: This is a Pittsburgh-based community, for things related to the city of Pittsburgh and the people who live here or love it from afar. Yes, we have occasional off-topic threads, but they are generally at least tangentially related to our beautiful city.
Advertising here is fine for Pittsburgh-related things. Do you have an event, new business, garage sale, or party you'd like to invite people to? That's what we're here for.
If you are concerned that your ad might not be appropriate to post on here, email the mods and ask them - modpittsburgh at gmail dot com. All of the emails sent there are also forwarded into my regular email and I am hopelessly addicted to my iPhone so unless you email at like 2 AM chances are you'll get a very fast response.
On the other hand, posting to the community with a note in your post saying "Mods, feel free to delete if this is inappropriate" is not so good. Apart from the fact that it's annoying to community members... Honestly, if you feel you have to give a mod permission to delete your post for not being appropriate, it probably doesn't belong on the community.
This is in no way meant to deter people from posting ads! I am more than happy to give suggestions on how to make it better for the community and very rarely outright reject anything. Just use some common sense when it comes to what you post.
