GI Doctor Recommendations

Aug 08, 2009 10:00

Can anyone recommend a good gastroenterology doctor who is familiar with colitis & Crohn's disease? I have been on medication for the first and need to be tested for the second. There's an extensive family history of Crohn's, so if anyone has any experience with this disease and doctors who know how to handle it, I'd really appreciate it. ccfa.org ( Read more... )

I have ulcerative colitis and have been seeing Dr. Leonard Baidoo since January of last year. I like him. His office is at UPMC's Digestive Disorder Clinic at Presbyterian. There are three other doctors there specializing in colitis, Crohn's, etc. See http://gastroenterology.upmc.com/UPP/InflammatoryBowelDisease.htm

Dr. Reed, not sure if he specializes in Crohn's and colitis, but the man is thorough. Think of Dr. House with a better bedside manner. Not sure where he's located, but I saw him at UPMC St Margarets and my BF's been treated by him as well. He's usually booked three months in advance.
