I don't think I've seen anything about The Hofbrauhaus in South Side yet, so I thought I would put in my two cents and recommend it to everyone!

It's a German Beer Hall that opened a few weeks ago; I went on Friday and it was awesome! Every so often the band would lead a drinking song, everyone was encouraged to stand on the benches to dance and sing, etc. You can get an entire liter of beer - which comes with a souvenir stein. If you don't care for beer, they also have a wine list, mixed drinks, and Pepsi products. They also had this thing called a shot ski - an old, wooden ski with 4 shot glasses attached to it, so 3-4 people take it at the same time. You can do it sitting at your table, standing on the benches, or on stage and if you do it at the right time, the band even counts down for you. I didn't do one, but a few people with our group did. Also, the food was really good - I highly recommend the Pretzels with Bier Cheese as an appetizer. It is very loud, though, so if you want an intimate conversation you might want to go somewhere else. The wait is pretty long, as well; our names were put in around 6:30 and we got seated a little before 9. They also have a gift shop with drinking glasses, steins, and t-shirts. I can't wait to go back!
