There's
an article in the Post Gazette today concerning pedestrian safety in Oakland. Apparently cops were all over the place handing out citations left and right to cars and supposedly to pedestrians as well. This is where I'm confused. I'm curious, is J Walking actually illegal in Pittsburgh or Pennsylvania for that matter? I know it's illegal in NY, but I think they did away with the law in PA or Pgh years ago. I've always wondered about this because I'm of the opinion that many people getting hit are probably Jwalkers. Ignorant drivers are a factor of course, but I think if they had JWalking laws and actually enforced them, there would be less accidents.
Anyone know?
