The Textile Studio

I know that The Textile Studio in the Strip/Mt. Lebo has come up more than once in this community. I was at the one in the Strip today, and got to talking to the owner. They rent the space, and have given up the second floor to the landlord, but plan on staying in Pittsburgh as long as they can. They're planning on coming in from Cincinnati for two, three day weekends a month. (Their next weekend after this is the 29-31 of January.)

He said that they've got a warehouse of fabric on the bolt, in Cincinnati, the size of 3 football fields, and they want to clear out inventory. They'll be bringing in a truckload of new fabric each weekend, so inventory will change each time. The smaller cuts are selling for $2 a yard, the bolts are $3 a yard, and trims are $1 a yard. They're specifically requesting that you sign up for an email list so that they can confirm with their customers their weekends each month.

I picked up a bolt of fabric that would probably be $45 a yard at Joanns/Calico Corners today, for $3 a yard - so I'm hoping that they stick around as long as they can work things out with their landlord. I know this sounds like a sales pitch - I'm not affiliated with them in any way - just wanted to spread the word to others who have shopped there in the past.
