Any pretty/scenic locations in Pittsburgh for wedding pictures? I'm getting married in May! My top choice right now is Mellon Park.

p.s. Last month I made a post asking for help to find a local DJ that was inexpensive and good, and a lot of people said DJ Zombo - so thanks a bunch, I met with him yesterday and he's the one we're picking!

Doh! I must have missed the DJ post, or I would have plugged the Steel City Soul Club: http://www.steelcitysoul.org/ and http://www.myspace.com/steelcitysoulclub

It's pretty much just one guy, and he's done weddings before and is inexpensive. His vinyl collection is mostly 60s and 70s soul and funk, and a ton of 80s, but he's done a lot of different styles for different occasions. The soul is almost always a crowd pleaser, though. :) If you haven't made a final decision, you should definitely check him out.

Phipp's Conservatory is a popular (and gorgeous) place for wedding photos.

I've always thought Phipps Conservatory and the grounds surrounding the Frick Art and Historical Center were nice photo op spots for weddings. Also, Grandview Ave overlooking the city on Mt. Washington comes to mind.

In the end, it's up to you...it's your day! Congratulations!

I live not far from Phipps, and it's amazing...and I also see lots of wedding parties (at least one a week it seems) taking pictures on the steps in front of the Mellon Institute.

We did our wedding photos right out side of the venue (the Edgewood Club). It probably wasn't the prettiest place in the world but the last thing we wanted to do was pile into cars and leave the venue for an hour to have some pictures taken. The time constraints during a wedding are insane and the more traveling that you need to do really piles on the stress and frustration. Just something to keep in mind when you are looking at locations.
