royally peeved at UPMC billing

So, a few weeks ago I saw a doctor at the Digestive Disorders Clinic at UPMC. I was told beforehand that the visit would cost $185. Okay, so I agreed to it and I paid $100 upfront. No treatment was given, no tests were carried out. It lasted about twenty minutes. A few days ago, I received a bill from UPMC's billing office, saying I owed them another $350! I called the billing office today and they claim that the smaller amount charged previously was for the doctor, while the $350 was for the hosptial, just for use of their facilities. I have no insurance. This really sucks. Have you ever run into kind of BS billing from UPMC? Like I say, this is without insurance.
