Pack-A-Thon, April 29th
4/29: VOLUNTEER! EAT! DANCE! PACK BOOKS! @ The PACK-A-THON!
Book 'Em, Pittsburgh's books-to-prisoners program, is seeking volunteers who LOVE BOOKS to attend their PACK-A-THON!
Come along and volunteer with us-- Select and package books to be mailed to people who are self-educating while in prison. There will also be free vegetarian food, cool music, various hijinks, and nifty conversation!
The Pack-A-Thon will be April 29th, 4 p.m.-Midnight (at which time, we will all turn into pumpkins). The address is 5125 Penn Avenue, in Garfield (the Thomas Merton Center), Pittsburgh, PA. You don't have to stay the whole time-- You can drop in and participate for as long or as short a time as you want.
If you want to, please bring educational books that you would like to donate. Packing tape, Sharpie Markers, and PAPER GROCERY BAGS are also needed. Or, just bring yourself!
Tell all your book-lovin' friends and neighbors! The PACK-A-THON is a volunteer event not to be missed!
