I finally finished packing my stuff in me suitcase, and multiple boxes, and left sydney on Wednesday 21st December. I checked my results in the morning, and I have passed everything. Soon, I will be officially an engineer. That is very good news indeed. My flight was good, and I arrived in Seychelles on Thursday morning. My mother, who was visiting me in Sydney for the last 3 weeks came on Friday, and unfortunately brought all the rain from Sydney back with her to the Seychelles. That is kind of annoying for me since I couldn't go to the beach for a whole week! That reminds me, if u r a visitor and wants to visit Seychelles, then do not show your face in December....and most probably January too, cause u will get ur sorry ass wet all day, every day.
My family is all good. They are still more or less the same as when I left. All the appliances in the house still doesn't work, and those which worked when I was there before doesn't work now. My house is in a mess, so I wouldn't advise anyone to visit me anytime in the near future, since it will take me a while to fix things a bit. In the city, I think there has been some development. Somebody told me there are now 2 cinemas. That is great news, since there was only one before, and they showed a movie a week. There a whole number of new shops around, which I have not had much time to visit, but they do not contain many things unfortunately.
It is very strange coming back home. I feel like a stranger in my own home. People talk to me in creol and use all these slang words I have never heard of before. And how do I approach girls now? Hey, where are u from? What r u studying?...doesn't work anymore. I have to figure out some new updated pick up lines :) My sister doesn't talk to one of my friend, and my mother doesn't talk to him either....and that person doesn't like this person anymore...this and that...all a lot to take in! and now I am in the middle of it all.
For christmas, I stayed at home and had lunch with my family. It was good to have lunch with everyone again. For New year, I went to a discoteque with some of my friends. I felt so lost, I didn't talk to a single new person! My coming back home culture shock had hit home and hard. I was at the bottom of the dancing ladder once again(and didn't know half the music being played), and I would need to work big time on my social skills to fit the seychelles night life scheme. People are generally more aggressive and there are a lot of showing off by the youths. Anyway, hopefully I will catch up with life here soon. It took me 7 months or so to get use to Sydney.
I have started to look for a job last week. Things should start speeding up this week and the next few weeks. I am hoping to be at work from February 2006.
I hope everyone had a good christmas, and a prosperous new year.
