Yep, Rwanda...pitbullpotpieAugust 3 2008, 05:25:41 UTC
It was a work thing. Fortunately, he did get to go see the "gorillas in the mist" gorillas. He said that was incredible (we have movies on youtube if you want to see them).
Although he did say the people bore the scars of the war from not so long ago. I won't go into what he saw, but it was rather horrific.

Yeah, I've read a great deal about the genocide and all the lovely things that have gone on since. I'm not so much interested in seeing the gorillas as I am the countryside and the people. It's supposed to be stunningly beautiful there, despite the trauma.
At first, I have to admit, I was thinking, "C'mon, it's only two weeks!" Then uglyfish and I did the math for ourselves. In the approximately seven years we've known each other, six of which we've been together, we've spent maybe three or four weekends apart. So yeah, I understand.
it's really weird...pitbullpotpieAugust 3 2008, 05:29:12 UTC
It's the comfort factor knowing that he's going to be home that night. When he's not going to be around for two weeks, man, do I get weird. Besides the fact that I'm TOTALLY a creature of habit and hate ANY upsets to my normal life, I missed the stuffins out of the boy.
My advice... don't spend two weeks away from Kelly. You two need each other like two sides of velcro :)
