Where all is lacking, the Powers That Be have for some reason or another given me a mission. Apparently that mission is to save orphaned kittens. Loki and Eisa (the orphans from Hurricane Frances) went to their forever home on Tuesday. Today, Mike found a feral kitten underneath his car in the Universal parking garage. He certainly couldn't just leave it there, so he brought it home to me.
"You can find a home for her too, can't you?"
This little girl is a brown tabby, with very long pointy ears, a long pointy face, and a long skinny body. Basically your typical feral kitty. I'm sure she won't be as easy to find a home for. She's a little older, probably 8-9 weeks, and is having some sort of eye issues. They're all squinty, like it hurts to keep them opened, and it looks like she had an injury to her left eye, which is healing. I put some antibiotic ointment in them, along with a painkiller, and I'll take her into the clinic first thing tomorrow morning to have it checked out. She's skin and bones, but hasn't really eaten anything yet. I think she's too frightened.
Right now, she's curled up on my lap, napping.
How does this happen to me? I don't even really like cats...not THIS much, anyhow.
