I'm finishing to decorate my dorm room. It's 11:41 pm and neither of my two roommates is home so I am entitled to listen to loud Christmas music and watch the whole first season of The Cosby Show if I want to. Teehee, I'm pretty happy about my room. It's the largest of the three, the closest to the kitchen and living room (not that they're very special, but anywho). Oh, before I forget, I wanted to share a Very Very Awesome And Guaranteed to Work HICCUP REMEDY. A few weeks ago when my family was still here with me, we drove to Quebec City, a few hours from Montreal. One day, we decided to visit this quaint island called Something or Another and Lilou got motion sickness when we arrived. SO, we stopped at a garden store. That's when I got "THE HICCUPS THAT ENLIGHTENED ME FOREVER". I was hiccupping quite loudly I guess because the owner smiled and asked me if he could help me get rid of them. Sure, why not , thinking he'd get me a glass of H2O or something. Anywho, this is what he did. REMEMBER IT! I tried it again today (I got them in the mall) and it worked. The guy told me that he and his dad had a special "don" (gift), but if I can do it, I think so can you... Enjoy!
The Very Very Awesome And Guaranteed to Work HICCUP REMEDY
When fighting hiccups, here's what to do*:
1. Loosely pinch your thumb and pointer fingers together.
2. Bring your pinched fingers to the middle of the front of your throat and pinch a small amount of skin between these two finger nails (pinching vertically).
3. Hold your breath.
4. Swallow.
5. Hold your breath for awhile (maybe 20 seconds...), but stop BEFORE you feel faint.
TADA! Hopefully it works for you. It's worked every time for me. However, the first time I had it done, I got the hiccups a few hours later. BUT, I tried the technique and they stopped immediately.
*(Disclaimer: this trick will not work unless you have the hiccups. Honest. :) )
