And now... Back to your regularly scheduled programming...

This weekend was a blast. My friend kellogg_collie flew out on Thursday morning and I managed to get an extended weekend due to working the Saturday before. Once he got in, we decided to take a nap, but somehow managed to be wide awake after our crazy schedule and drove around Westport and the Plaza downtown.

I managed to find the Nat Sherman smokes I've been looking for (thanks to Psylis introducing me to them) after 2 years. Then owe wandered around world market and found "The Fox's Box of Biscuits" (Pics soon to come). That seemed like a great box of british cookies to get for the friends coming over on Saturday. Then a sampling of Black Cherry Soda and Key Lime Pie Soda and we were off to drive around a little more on a long extended sugar rush. Later that evening (this time after an actual nap), we met up with Delphi and Solus and headed off to Pancho's which is the best 24 hr mexican place I know of.

After hanging out at Pancho's late night, we wound up driving around some more and went out to my Water works park for the views. It was quite a challenge making it up the ice covered hill, but we did it and after some awe at the incredible views of KC late night with it's lights over downtown, we all just ran around acting silly with the snow and park. That led me to another idea. So off to a quick stop at QT for some drinks and over to Penguin park. The moment we pulled in, this cop came across the road and pulled up next to us. I figured he was upset that we were out at the park at midnight, but it turns out there were some locals supposedly going there to fight. When I explained I just had a friend in town, and we were running around town just having some fun, he said "cool, then have fun out here tonight" :) So we played around there for a while, then called up RJ and swung by so he could meet them.

Friday the plan was to go shooting and then hit Dave and Busters. The shooting part didn't happen in lieu of sleep or something like that. So we went out to Dave and Busters and had a few shooters to start the night off. "Scooby Snacks", "Lunch Boxes", and "Leathal Weapon" were the shooters of choice. Games and "Peanut butter jelly time" were had and then off to the liqour store and grocery for some booze and snacks for Sat as well. A little hanging out was had and then this time, off to bed early so we could attempt shooting the next day.

So off to the range it was. Early afternoon plinking and also Kellogg's first time shooting too. Brought the AR-15, my new SA Colt replica, and a P90. It was a blast and videos will come later as well. Then back to the house to prep for the party. We ended up heading out to eat at a local family owned Italian place I like and then back home to prep the snacks for the small get together we had on Sat. It was fun seeing some folks and having a nice social atmosphere again that night. I also got to try out DJ hero for the first time :P There's a lot of irony in that given I'm a mix DJ and not a scratch DJ, but I digress. After lots of booze, snacks and hanging out, we called it a night.

On Sunday, it was a lazy day. Just chilled a bit and then that night, went to see Fantastic Mr. Fox with Kellogg, Cien, and Solus. It was cute and then I had to work, ugh. So after work that early morning, I crashed out and it was the last day of his visit. Delphi and Solus came back over to hang out and we took some fursuit shots that I wanted to get and will be working on a series called "Service Dogs" ;) Just some fun shots of pups with guns of course ;) Oh and kitties as horses :P But those will come later after I try and brush up on my photoshop skills with backgrounds and such.

So that was one hell of a weekend and then back to work. I dropped Kellogg off at the airport this morning and headed back to the office. Such is life, but it's getting out there and living it that makes it all worth while :)
