Mosquitos and tortured chicken

We went diving again, with Vicky and a guy called ade, and saw the octopus again as well as a STINGRAY and a SCORPION fish! Also there was a HUGE giant moray eel hiding underneath a boulder, that was at least 2 meters long! AND we saw dolphins in teh water when we were on our way there!!!!!!!! They truly belong to the ocean, not in aquariums. I wouldn't call anyone who enjoys dolphin shows a true friend of animals.

It was a fun day, though we only went to Raya Yai...So, we left Phuket after a night out with Vicky and some of her friends. I must say we were pretty drunk that night, even though we hadnt been drinking very much. The next morning was HELL, mostly because we needed to leave the place and find our way to Krabi, which is off Phuket island.

So we packed our backpacks and ate tons of crisps. Started walking to the bus stop feeling rough, the backpacks draining the last remaining energy from our weary bodies. So we sat in the bus and thought the journey would begin soon. However, there was a guy whose job was to collect money, AND also cram more people into the vehicle. In the end, what was supposed to be a 30- person bus (it wasnt REALLY a bus but those who have been to Thailand know what I mean), but it ended up being a bus for like 50 or so people. It was a LONG journey. Now I know what cows feel like when they're being transported to the slaughter house...So, in Phuket town we got into another bus, still feeling ill from all the booze and heat that kept hitting our faces like a giant hammer.

This bus would have been alright, if there had not been KARAOKE on TV during the trip that made our heads ache. after karaoke, we were forced to watch a really crappy movie, which is not worth mentioning. Towards the end of the 3-hour trip from Phuket town to Krabi I had to use the smelly toilet, but I got stuck inside. In addition, the light wasnt working. I mean, how cool is that? So I spend a couple of minutes in the dark and smelly toilet, trying to find myself a way out until I figured out how to to push it open. Didn't panick at all :D though I was feeling quite desperate as I wanted to get out of teh smelly little closet.

In Krabi, we talked to some crazy tourist information guys and got a minibus to Ao Nang, where a boat waited for us, and I have to say I haven't seen a sight as beautiful as that in a long time! we arrived in Railay, and there are no tuk tuks here, so we had to walk all the way through the island with our backpacks (5 minutes :P ). Our "resort" is really cool, like a tree house, but it has a lot of mosquitos in it...Karen has been bitten by at least 15 of them during the two nights we have stayed in here. They dont seem to like me all that muc, which is unfortunate.

ALSO, when we got here, we realised that what we had bought for ourselves to eat food from were BOWLS meant for flushing TOILETS! We bought them with spoons. They must have had a good laugh at the store...

Yesterday the tide was low, so me and Karen decided to take a walk towards the beach that was located very far away from us. It ended up in disaster. The sand wasn't really sand, it was mud, and Karen's shoes became unrecognisable. Mine not, cause I had taken my shoes off already. So we decided to turn back after a while, but our feet just got muddier, so we decided to wash them in a little puddle on the mud. HOWEVER, it wasn't an ordinary puddle, it was a stream coming from a Thai house...SEWAGE! Not poo sewage, but nonetheless. We laughed even more and walked to the shore, and it STARTED RAINING. so we went to a bar and sat in there for a while, came back at night to have a banana cinnamon shake and ginger tea.

Theres also a bar nest to our resort, but we dont go there anymore, because we heard a weird noise from behind teh building and saw some guys throw stuff at something while we were sitting at the bar. It sounded like a parrot, so we went to see what it was and saw TWHO CHIKENS tied together from tehir legs lying on the floor, DYING. The sound they made was that of desperation and pain and I can't get it out of my head. They said they were going to eat them on the next day, but that is NOT a fecking excuse to treat them like that! We got shocked, and decided not to go to that bar again. I wish I hadn't seen it. There was nothing I could have done about it, as the chickens were already half dead. But that was teh worst thing about it. SO if you are an animal lover, PLEASE PLEASE DONT EAT CHICKEN IN THAILAND! They are never treated better than that, because they dont have ANIMAL RIGHTS in their culture. (well, if you REALLY were a friend of animals, you wouldnt eat chicken at all....sorry, just had to say that! :P )

I met a guy called Joe here, he was cool but unfortunately he was going to the full moon party at Koh Pha-Ngan. It's cool to meet new people, amd always sad to see them leave.

Today, more beach, and tomorrow to Phi Phi Don and Leh!! Ill write more about it and put some pictures in later :D

still having fun, dont want to come back. ever. you???
