Im sitting in a computer lab at Stirling university and my contacts are about to get stuck into my eyes, as the ventilator blows cold air on my face.
FINALLY, I graduated!! On 29th June, at 1pm I walked on the stage in my red dress (though we were supposed to wear black and white) and a gown that I had hired far too late (In fact on the same day when I had my ceremony), and GOT MY CERTIFICATE. Also my student account at university was disabled. Now I have officially fucked off. I have left the building for good and will hopefully never come back MUAHHAAAHHAHAAA!
Im a bit gutted cause I left my sleeping bag at Newcastle airport. I just took my suitcase and walked away, forgetting that I had actually brought another item with me. Luckily, Im staying with friends here, and they were friendly enough to give me one. In addition, saying that I will never come back does not include never visiting friends. Friends, not the certificate, are the most important aspects of my former student life, and they are the ones Im going to remember a long time after time has bleached all grades on the white paper I received... I did get a 2.1 though, which is more than GREAT! AND I also passed my honours. As Im sitting in this lab, eating dried corn, I realise that I have not suffered for nothing.
In the past month, Ive been up a lot. Seeing friends, working (looking after cool kids), going to Sweden in a ship (visited the amusement park and Gamla Stan) and traveling to our summer cottage - the paradise on Earth - with JIMMYGIRL and my parents. In about 10 days, Karen is going to visit me in Finland!!!!!!!!!!!!! AND after that were going to ASIA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That I am definitely looking forward to. I promise I'll update my LJ more often from now on, also while Im traveling around Asia. Cant believe we're actually going! It's somehow too surreal, thinking myself diving into clear, blue water and seeing all the beauty that surrounds us in the world...
On the other hand, I didnt get to go to Iceland, where theyre still building the damn dam. Go to
http://www.savingiceland.org and find out yourself. After my trip to Asia I'll come back here, look for work and concentrate on activism. In the end, the world is what matters the most, and even though I need some vacation at some point, its still deep in my heart to help our planet.
to all my friends, whether in Finland or anywhere else, I LUV YOU. :-D You are what makes me live!
