Relationships are insanity. That isn't to say being in a relationship is insane. Anyone who has ever had more than one relationship is, by definition, insane. Insanity is repeating the same method expecting different results. The only reason you may not think you appear insane is because the other person is different, and therefore you assume 'this' relationship isn't going 'exactly like the last one'.
I assure you, whatever you're doing this time is what you did last time with the last one.
I know how I am, and I realize the mistakes I tend to make. I do take strides to ensure I don't repeat certain mistakes, but our subconscious is never so kind as to let a personality fault go without a fight. We will always repeat mistakes. There are people with great power across this planet who work tirelessly to erase history, or simply change it...all to keep the equilibrium of repeating mistakes an empirical historical fact.
Such is the plight of the human brain. You will attack a relationship from virtually the same angle every time. You can't really help that, and no matter how you try to change, your hormones make you stupid and will always put you in 'autopilot'. But, as with an army attacking other armies, the success of repeating the same tactic is highly dependent upon that other army. If one goes up when you go down, you might be able to deliver the killing blow.
Aww damn, I'm making a "love is a battlefield" analogy.
I'll get right to it. I may have met my match. I might be on a level playing field here. There's almost a mental telepathy with this one, and though our pasts are different, our time lines do seem to have intertwined along a single road that appears to have forced us together. Not that either of us are complaining. Here we are, stuck together, but monumentally happy about it.
I don't doubt I'm handling things a lot like the other relationships I've been in. I am, insane. But equally insane as the one I've come to find and now spend every second of my life with. So when my Mum points out that I'm moving along with this one just like the other ones...the only real reply I can think of is "Yes, but...this is Morganna."
