man, i wish there was this much shit to do in Gainesville. seriously, transplant UF (and loving boyfriend) to Rome, and i think i'd be in heaven. oh, and air conditioning. this country really needs to embrace technology.
yesterday was one of my favorite days since i've been in Italy (i still think my favorite was in Ischia at the beach, when i climbed a huge ass rock in the middle of a lagoon by the beach and sunbathed topless on top of said huge ass rock while crystal blue waves crashed around my private rock and against the huge cliffs around me--i felt like a mermaid!...god, i'm a dork). we went to the beach (notice a trend in my favorite days?), we being me and two girls i hadn't really hung out with before in the group. they were both extremely nice, as most ppl in the group are, and we sunbathed for about 5 hours or so.
then got back to Rome and was starving, so went to local hole in the wall restaurant (that was actually written about in the NY Times!) and had AWESOME meal. home-made pasta--ravioli with ricotta in pesto sauce, then caprese (tomatoes, olive oil, mozzarella), and meat balls (which apparently have beef and veal in them here).
theeeeen, went with a few people to a hookah lounge in Trastevere (neighborhood across the river) for a few hours. had a sex on the beach and smoked mango hookah, very relaxing.
all in all, very good day, glad i decided to stay in Rome this weekend.
today have shopped around, and took tour of Emperor Nero's palace. also had cheap, kickass lasagna. will definitely miss the food here.
that said, i can't WAIT to come home and show pictures, give souvenirs out, and then run away with Phil to St Pete! :D
oh!! holy shit, there is a FREE Duran Duran and Beck concert tomorrow night in Rome! random, yes, i know. but it's free. so i obviously must go.
tonight am seeing free play (in English!) in the Roman Forum. for now, need to go home and make flashcards so can study for finals (which are Thursday--eep!).
ciao!
