So today is the first chance I have had since we got back to make a post. B doesn't know I have this blog so while on vacation I stealthly made posts, I love tabbed browsing. Anyhoo I managed to get the day off since yes my first weekend back I have to work. The scheduling absolutely sucks, another reason to leave.
Starting from the beginning of the vacation. We drove out to Kelowna where the wedding was being held. B had plans to golf for 2 days, which I was perfectly fine to being on my own for those days. I slept in ,read New Moon in the Twilight series, played on my computer, and watched season 4 of Entourage. On the third day there is when we switched to the resort where the wedding was happening, before we went there we went for a winery tour at Cedar Creek. We got 3 bottles of wine as gifts from there. I don't drink but it was very interesting to see how wine is really made. I think when B was booking the room at the resort he was still trying to impress me, because this room had a 2 man jacuzzi in the living room. I took advantage of that the first night. The guys had to go and stay with the groom so I had the whole thing to myself. I popped in some CSI and let the bubbles massage my body, it was great. The wedding was rather kind of not planned well. It was on a beautiful little beach, but getting there was just awkward in heels. Man my feet absolutely hurt after that, by the time the reception was around my shoes were off. The resort did not plan their shuttle very well for this wedding. It didn't pick us up which is why my feet probably hurt so much, because we had to walk down a huge hill to get to the beach. The shuttle even forgot to pick up the Bride and she was half an hour late for the ceremony. Groom had to use my cell phone to call her and see where she was, she was there in a panic on how she was going to go down to the wedding. The Bride and Groom had decided that if there was too much clinking of the glasses that they were going to delegate that someone else kiss their significant other. Sure enough they delegated B during dinner, he literally marched my way and grabbed my whole head turned it up and planted a big huge kiss on me. It was rather a nice wedding, and met some more of B's friends.
The next day after the wedding we had to pack up and drive to Victoria. We got to see a bit of the killer whales while we were on the ferry but of course the bobbing of the boat I couldn't get a good enough photo. We finally reached our destination and I was pretty sure the hotel was haunted, it just had that smell. Room was quite small and could barely get hot water for a shower. Because the room was so small we had to leave the wine in the car. So the first night I told B that we are fixing up the car to make sure that it didn't look like we had anything in it. I locked up the rest of our sunglasses in the glove box and we put my seats up to hide what ever in the trunk space. The next day we went on the Big Bus tour around the city, where we went to the Royal Wax Museum, and Craigdarroch Castle. After that we walked around downtown. We went for dinner at a tapas place there B really wanted to try it out, and after that we went on a ghost tour. That was really interesting but really no picture opportunities. We learned that Victoria is the most Haunted city in the world. We woke up the next day to the hotel calling telling us our car(my car) was broken into. I ran out and saw that they smashed in my drivers window, and try to pry open my passenger but scraped up my door instead. They climbed in my drivers window pried open my glove box stole 2 pairs of sunglasses and a pack of gum. They climbed into the back and pulled down the seats and got to the trunk and stole the wine that we had. We spent a bit trying to get things in order to get my car fixed, we dropped it off at the dealership and decided to continue with the tour. As we passed all these places they talked about in the ghost tour we would say haunted. It was funny. We went down to the fisherman's wharf and ate at the fish and chip place, apparently really expensive. We walked around there and snapped a lot of photos of the sea lion that frequents by the fish store. We went to the Oakbay area and found a great little tea store where I bought my friend a gift for. We walked around downtown more where I realized there are a lot of homeless people living in there. We were walking down a pretty rough part apparently because there was a biohazard container on a post there. Which was only 2 blocks away from our hotel. The next day we had to call the dealership to see if the car was going to be fixed they said we had to wait until the afternoon to tell, so we took in the museum, then we finally found out that the car was not going to be ready for us to go to Tigh Na Mara. We had planned on leaving that day, I was really bummed I really didn't want to spend another day in Victoria and I was going to lose 200 bucks on the room for the resort. So B suggested we rent a car instead.
We finally make it to Tigh Na Mara and man was it ever nice there. We drove out to a beach and had some icecream and then we we picked up some food and took it back to the resort and watched Beverly Hills 90210. We were pretty tired from the day and went to bed. We woke up and got ready. Went for a walk down on the beach on the resort it was fun. I dug for some clams ,but they were too tiny to eat. I wouldn't have eaten them anyways, I just wanted to see how far down they bury themselves. Then it was off the the Grotto Spa, ooooo sooo worth the money. We had a glacial wrap, then we ended off with a couples massage. It was so great, my skin feels so soft from the treatments, and apparently B could be persuaded to do that again, even the glacial wrap. We ended the day off by going for dinner out, then to bed early.
Next day was the drive back home 15 hours worth of driving. Ughh. We woke up at 0530 got everything in the car for the drive back to go get my car. If we didn't have to go and get my car we wouldn't have to drive 2 hours to get to the ferry. We stil managed to hit up the enchanted forest on the way back, we decided to give the car a rest. It's quite a place, you would never know all that was in the forest from the highway. We made it home Sunday at 0130, we were both beat from the drive. All in all the vacation was good despite the break in.
