Tuesdays at Middlesex
Last night Sean, Susannah and I went to the Middlesex and it was old school Yo! MTV Raps style and they had a projector screen with a ton of clips from 1989-1992. They had clips of White Men Can't Jump, TMNT, House Party, T2. They even did a 'Ghostbusters II' homage of which they played that Bobby Brown song-hahaha...I felt like I was blasted back to 4th-7th grade. They played Tribe, Kriss Kross, NWA-hahaha...it was half black and half MIT nerd-totally segregated within the dance floor-blacks near the dj booth breakin' and poppin' and white kids in the other corner reminiscing about a time period when they were probably in diapers and too young to remember any of it. We mixed and danced with people break dancing. We were even photographed of which I will find the link as I am sure it is going to be posted on the Middlesex website. It was definitely a scen Vice magazine has been to before as Tuesdays are the best night of the week to go there.
