I'm a Mommy again!
I got my kitty, Zander, yesterday. I named him after Alexander and the Terrible Horrible No Good Very Bad Day! He slept all day and I even ran errands and came back and he was in the same place. He played for a little but then hide under the couch all night. I thought maybe he got stuck so I pulled him out this morning when he finally ate a little something and went to the potty for the first time. I guess he just has to get used to the place.
Austin was a lot of fun except I never got to see one of my friends. By the time I got into down, the roller derby would have almost been over and I needed food. Veggie Heaven it was! and my beloved Protein 2000 was presented with a spicy kick! I guess I won't say yes to spicy next time, but it still hit the spot. Yvonne, Josh and I went to see their friend's band Horse+Donkey at Beerland. We got there super early, which was a big surprise so we went next door to Elysium for the bestest Chocolate Martinis! I wanted to dance when one of my songs came on - Away by the Bolshoi, but we didn't have enough pep in us. Back to Beerland for the band, which was really good and I scored a CD from the drummer, who was super nice! Too bad all the nice guys I meet in Austin, stay in Austin. I hope to pass the cd along to Louis to help them get a show in Houston. After they finished, back to Elysium we went for the rest of the 80s dance fest and more chocolate Martinis. Josh and Colin showed up on the dance floor and got their little groove on. While Josh and Yvonne did some slow dancing, Colin twirled me around. That was probably the highlight of the night. The closeness of dancing with a sexy guy to some good music.. man I could have done that all night! I guess we stayed until almost 3 cause I was exhausted and hungry by the time we left. We grabbed some food on they way back to the house quoting Napoleon Dynamite the entire way. Josh does the vocies the best. I sounded like a dying animal. ooo.. we also saw this guy ram his car into a tree, back up, check out his car and drive off.. crazy!!
Monday, Yvonne and I did a bit of shopping. I got some MAC of my own that she prettied me up with the night before. I also discovered the Aveda tea and snatched some up for my new at work drink. I met my cousins, Lauren and baby Emily for dinner. It was great to finally see her again and I took some great pics. Emily is such a happy baby, it was adorable. I did get lost trying to get back to Yvonne's house which was like 7 min from where I was. I planned on meeting my other friends Michael and Christy but by the time I got back to the house, I didn't want to drive anymore, especially to the other side of town and Michael goes to sleep at like 9pm! So I cancelled with them and ended up driving home since I had to take another drive about 30 min outside Houston to get Zander yesterday, I didn't want to do all that driving in one day. Glad I did that too since it rained yesterday and I hate driving in the rain! At least the rain entered Austin on my way out this time! Maybe my luck is changing..
