The Pen Story
A few weeks ago my friend Kelly P was having a sort of problem with her friend. She said that they wanted to end thier friendship because she was "hurting" her. I didn't ask her what this meant because, truthfully, it wasn't my business and I was worried more about helping her. The thought of just outright ending a friendship with someone you've known for a long time and have become dearly close to is just... it just sounds stupid to me. Theres gotta be a better way.
So when Kelly gets in a wierd mood and is all depressed, she said she "speaks in metaphors". She comes to me and says, "My pen is going to die soon". I say, "Ah, your pen may be going to die soon but you were writing in permenant ink." She smiles and says, " My pen is going to die soon, but I have refills. Thanks Kelcy." She and her friend decided not to end a perfectly good friendship and I worked things out so I was happy.
Remember, when you think your pen is going to die soon, its not your pen thats dieing, its just the ink in it that needs to be refilled.
