“Jesus was going through all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues and proclaiming the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every kind of disease and every kind of sickness. Seeing the people, He felt compassion for them, because they were distressed and dispirited like sheep without a shepherd. Then He said to His disciples, “The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Therefore beseech the Lord of the harvest to send out workers into His harvest.” Matthew 9:35-38

Did you know that people who are not Christians are distressed and dispirited like sheep without a shepherd? Another version says: they were harassed and helpless. Picture this, some little kid getting beaten up over and over and he is helpless and no one comes to rescue him, because he hasn’t come to the realization that Jesus can rescue him. This is what your lost friends go through every day. And God’s word says that the harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Where can you go this school year where the workers are few?? For me, it’s in the theatre department and my dorm….there are girls there that have never heard the name Jesus. Maybe for you, God wants you to take a certain class or join a club. I pray that this year you will begin to build relationships with the lost and love them, and through that, you would share the Gospel with them, because that is why we are on Earth….we are God’s ONLY method to reach the lost. Yes, that means you….you don’t have to know a whole lot about the Bible, all God asks is that you tell people what you know.
