My ears are still ringing this morning after one of the most amazing live performances I have seen in my 32 years of existence.
Losing my hearing is a small price to pay in this case (although I'm really hoping it comes back to normal soon).
I got to the venue a couple of hours early and the line was quite small. I sneaked inside because I needed to use the bathroom and I don't know if you guys ever been to the Tutu but basically, you have to take the elevator to get there. It's on the fourth floor, same floor as the only bathroom in the building.
As soon as the elevator doors slid open, I heard Thursday's soundcheck. They were playing 'No Answers' and they sounded amazing.
I went back downstairs and queued with the rest of the kids (all of which wear literally kids. I felt like the oldest person there).
Doors opened at 7pm and we filed up to get to the elevator. I got barrier next to a very vocal, bouncy guy and the small group of kids that were right next to me in the queue. They were really nice.
The first opening band, Attack! Vipers! were very loud and the lead singer seemed to really like rubbing his sweat on the audience's faces. I thought they were okay but not my cup of tea.
Then Circa Survive came on and the very tiny place blew up. Have I mentioned how small the venue was? Because it was the smallest venue I've ever been to. It's even smaller than the KoKo which I thought was tiny.
The lead singer of Circa almost fainted on stage at one point because he hadn't eaten anything all day, or so he told us. He asked the audience if anyone had a Twix and then people started throwing packets of chips and chocolate bars. One girl even handed him an apple and he proceeded to eat it and spit it all back on the stage floor.
Around the last song of their set, I looked to the side of the stage and saw Geoff Rickly, standing there and watching us like a creeper. It was a little hard to focus on Circa while Geoff fucking Rickly was in my line of vision.
Then it was Thursday time. They played a few songs off the new record and then played the entirety of Full Collapse for us (since it's been 10 years since the album came out). Geoff would crawl on the floor, jump down the stage to sing at us, said some nice things about the French (which made me shout 'I AM FRENCH'. Tom Keeley looked at me and asked me if I was really French and I said something like 'Putain, oui' LOL).
The set ended with an encore where they played Turnpike Divides.

After the show, Tom came out to put his gear away and I called him out. We chatted for a bit and I told him I would see them again in May and how I loved the new album. The boys are really proud of it and it makes me really happy.
I got a setlist and Tom signed it. I also got one of his guitar picks. Tom is one of the nicest guys I have ever met.
At this point, I was wondering if the other guys were going to formally come out to sign stuff when I saw Geoff talk to some kids by the door. We formed a line and all got our turn to talk to him. I got a picture and he signed my setlist too. I talked to him about seeing them again in May with My Chem and he said, "These guys are my babies." It made me really happy.
On the elevator on my way out, I ran into Tucker and shook his hand. Told him how awesome the show had been and thanked him. He wasn't wearing a lot and I felt like a perv for staring at his naked chest and his tattoos.
I made it home around midnight and realized I couldn't hear anything (except a very loud ringing).
In conclusion: I will definitely go to see Thursday again. But maybe next time I'll bring some earplugs.
