Today in an orientation for my practicum, the professors explained how some of my very important mail will be arriving through a different channel on the university's website. I went, I looked, I found a NOVEL I need to read before the first day of class, a HEADSET/MICROPHONE COMBO I need to buy for one of the English classes (for which the chief assignments will have to be BLOGGED or done by PODCAST omg wtf), and a class text about BLOGGING, WIKIS, AND PODCASTS that I need to buy and read chapter 1 for before the first day of class.
Also: I have to find two adolescent students to observe in group settings and to interview one on one about their learning processes. And the first case study on them is due on my birthday, June 21.
*self-destruct mode on*
Yay grad school...
Update: does no one carry this stupid blog book? Now that the annoyance has worn off a smidgen, I'm psyched that I get to use all this stuff, but ouch! It costs more than I care to spend. Also: the novel is shorter than I was led to believe. I can knock it out quickly as long as it doesn't bore me to tears.
HEY! If anyone knows any adolescents (middle school and high school) in the Atlanta area who are going to be doing group activities like boy scouts, girl scouts, bible camp, sunday school, summer camp, ANYTHING- let me know. I would just ask them about which teachers or subjects they like and why. And then I'd watch them socialize with their peers and write up how they behaved with others. If your neighbors' kids all get together to watch movies or just hang out, let me know!
