The reading list continues

Since I've been laid off, I've had enough time on my hands to read all the books on my giant To Read Eventually list. Most of them are classics that have made it to numerous Required Reading lists for schools. The rest are just books I want to read before I die. The list I posted last week is mostly through. I'm on To Kill a Mockingbird right now. I like the voice.

Books to hunt down in the Cobb County library system: other Earthsea books, Gene Wolfe books, The Dragonriders of Pern, Howard's End, Lolita (never finished it last time), the rest of LOTR (only read the first actually. I know, I'm bad)

If anyone has copies of The Unbearable Lightness of Being, The Mists of Avalon, any Pratchett books I haven't read, or possibly The Once and Future King, I would appreciate borrowing them. They don't have them at the Vinings branch and i don't want to wait for the reserves to get transferred.

Good news: as a Barnes & Noble employee (even a cafe server), I get to check out hardcovers from the store like library books provided I bring them back in brand new condition. The idea is that everyone in the store should be well read enough to impress the customer with our recommendations, etc. I can't wait to get pegged as the sci fi/fantasy geek. "Oh, you know who can answer you question? Pedro- girl in the apron at the cafe."

My new coworkers are tickled pink about my name being Pedro. Napoleon Dynamite references have been made. From my conversations so far, I think I will like all of them. They're all bibliophiles and several are cofee/panini addicts and WoW users. My kind of crowd.
