Showing off Again.
A month or so ago I took a day off in San Francisco. This was full of many things, most notably a closed SF MOMA, the looting of Nordstrom's, and feeling rather unfashionable even on public transport.
And that night, on the train, I drew myself in the window's reflection and watched people watching me draw across the aisle of the train. I was deliriously happy that none of them were moved to comment in such ways as:
"Wow, you draw real good."
"Did you go to school for that?"
"I have a brother that draws.."
"Can you draw my cat?"
"Are you a professional?"
I have received variations of these comments while drawing in public places, which is in part why I am so loathe to do it. I simply can't relax. Of course, I'll have to train myself otherwise. Someday.
If you see this person drawing on a bus somewhere, please do not poke her with sticks. She will beat you with her heavy backpack and/or stab you with a $6 pen. Maybe leave candy.
I'm soon going to have a batch of female characters ready. Does anyone have any weird/unusual physical traits I can draw on them?
