Stop driving cars and get a bike. Apparently you are mentally retarded.

My fall break was slightly more subdued than planned after the girl driving me to Tallahassee decided it was a good idea to turn right across two lanes of traffic without looking first. A car hit my door, and then we crashed into a telephone pole. Result: A chest contusion (read: big, seatbelt-shaped bruise) and a sprained finger.

Lavish pity on me!

In other news, I had a successful yet wildly disappointing job interview today. I'm surprised I made it, to be honest. The commute went as follows:

1) MARTA bus to rail station.
2) Waiting around rail station listening to a robot voice repeating, "Southbound train to airport," ad nauseum over the loudspeaker. The southbound train to airport does not arrive. Mechanical difficulties. Fuck.
3) Very, very delayed train to airport.
4) C-TRAN bus through Clayton county. On the way to my stop, we passed a sign saying Macon was a mere two exits away. Jesus.
5) Walking 3/10 of a mile through a very, very shady neighborhood.

Somehow, even in spite of MARTA sucking an ass, I managed to get to the interview on time. I met with these two dudes, Jeremy and Justin, who both seemed incredibly cool - Jeremy especially, since he was around my age and was wearing jeans and a T-shirt. (Every other place I've applied has been business attire only.) The interview was a complete success. I answered every question confidently and without hesitation, they seemed to like what they heard, they laughed at my jokes and cracked their own, and when they talked about the position, they used phrases like "you'll be doing such and such" and "when you're working with blah blah."

And then they found out I'm a full-time student.

"Oh... we were under the impression that you were ready to work right away."

"Oh."

"... Yeah."

By this point, their supervisor had come in, and she urged me - commanded me, really - to apply again for the upcoming year, September through September. So that was nice. Unfortunately, I'll be long gone by that point.

Suuuuuuuuucks. This job seemed really perfect, just the right blend of hands-on and behind-the-scenes work with a lot of fun and variety mixed in.

Yeesh, speaking of jobs, I'm on break at the WoodPEC, only it's lasted about ten minutes longer than it should have. Gotta fly.
