Hi, all! I'm new to this comm, graciously pointed here by the dear Captain Gypsyluv! I'm a Johnny/Orlando and Jack/Will type of girl, so anything I post here will probably involve those two! ;)
Anyway, here's the drabble I wrote for Challenge # 24...
Title: Tranquil Seas

Word Count: 433
Characters/Pairings: Jack/Will
Warnings/Ratings: Slash, rated PG
Disclaimer: Pirates of the Caribbean belongs to Disney. Lyrics to Sullen Girl belong to Fiona Apple.
Author’s Notes: The lyrics of the song have a different meaning than what I depicted in here because it didn’t really suit the idea I had for this.
I hope you all like it!

The oil lamp on the table in Jack’s cabin was the only source of light; that, along with the moonlight spilling in through the porthole. Jack cast a glance at the sleeping figure in his bed every so often, reassuring himself that he was okay.
Eventually, finding himself tired of studying maps, the pirate rolled up the parchment he had been looking at and stood, going over to the bed and taking his boots off, which were joined on the floor by his hat, cutlass, and waistcoat. He slid in next to the other man carefully, anxious not to disturb his bandages - Will had been injured in battle a few days before, and often had trouble sleeping because of the pain it caused him when he moved.
Jack smiled to himself when Will immediately shifted closer to him in his sleep, putting his head on his chest. The pirate captain wrapped his arm around his lover, sliding his fingers through his wavy chesnut hair, staring up at the wooden ceiling of his cabin.
Will mumbled something in his dreams, and Jack looked down at him, momentarily turning to press his lips against his forehead.
“There's too much going on
But it's calm under the waves, in the blue of my oblivion
Under the waves in the blue of my oblivion,”
He began singing quietly, remembering the somewhat fuzzy memories of a woman singing the same words to him long, long ago.
He felt Will shift against him, and brown eyes suddenly opened and looked up at him.
Jack gave him a gentle smile before he moved his hand down to lightly rest on the white bandage that was covering the injury on the young man’s torso. “How’s it feelin’?”
Will only wound his arm around Jack’s chest, replying, “It gives me a bit of trouble every once in a while.”
“Try to get some sleep,” Jack said quietly, pulling his lover closer to him. Will sighed in contentment and closed his eyes, murmuring, “Keep singing… I like hearing your voice…”
Jack found himself blushing at that, hoping that Will didn’t see it. He leant down again and placed a kiss onto Will’s cheek.
“They don't know how
I used to sail the deep and tranquil seas
But he washed me ashore
And he took my pearl
And left an empty
Shell of me…”
He felt Will relax against his body within a matter of moments, and Jack looked down to see the younger man peacefully sleeping on his chest. Jack closed his eyes and snuggled closer to him.
“Good night, my love.”
