I don't think there is any entitlement, and I dislike the sense of entitlement. But, and this sounds contradictory, I think we have a right to want things and try to get what we want. I think we need to understand that friendship and love means wanting to give people what they want. So if people love us they should want to give us what we want as well.
The expectation of fulfilled needs from those closest to us aside. We also can't expect one person to fulfill all of our needs. It's unfair for both people involved.
I think the first issue for you is to find that line. Are you asking for nothing and getting very little? Are you asking too much of each person? The husband might not want to go to the movies, but what needs does he fulfill? Movies aren't a really important issue. I often go to the movies alone. Find other people to do other things with. It helps to have a variety of friendships. I'm working on that one myself, right now.
I kind of put myself in a cage. I keep to myself a lot. I am trying to be more social and it is more work than it feels like that sort of thing should be.
