I wish I could stop time, which is nothing new I suppose. But it's a nice topic to ponder. I would have stopped it this afternoon, on the couch with you, in that blissfully tranquilly sleepy state, when my mind didn't wander, was just content to be exactly where it was.
And maybe I would let time pass for me, while it just slowed for everyone else, like an elementary school music teacher watching students play a rythm game, slow motion dance, now freeze, now fast. I would keep my friends around longer, speed painful "discussions," keep my parents young, keep sunny days and speed the rain, unless it was good warm dancing rain, slow bullets just enough for friends to jump out of harms way o God please keep them safe. Speed my mom's surgery and recovery, slow days where she feels 29 years young. Slow dances, dates, good,deep kisses, speed long history lectures, long semesters, long absences from love.
