So, I've not written anything in awhile and today I am sufficiently bored enough to spend time here.
About a month ago, our grey, always freaked out kitty died. He was running around wrestling with a stuffed parrot and being as alive as ever the night before. I kissed him on the head when I left for work in the morning. Then in the evening, I noticed my cats were missing. I discovered I had accidently shut Penguin in the closet, but he wasnt crying to get out yet. Then I looked in Emile's favorite spot and he didnt move. A six year old, seemingly healthy cat, dead? We took him to the vet for an autopsy since we have another cat and six ferrets to be worried about. But the vet said that he was the age that heart problems start showing up and most likely Emile's condition wouldnt have shown up in an exam.
We got a new kitty from the Lawrence Humane Society. He's about eight months to a year and FULL to the brim with energy. He wants to constantly be doing stuff. He wants to be picked up and carried around and loves to play. He pounces on feet in the mornings and then chases my ankles when I get up. Its adorably cute. Except of course at 6 am when I would prefer to be sleeping. Anyway, he's a good kitty.
In other news, the new Bruce Campbell film by the guy who did the Phantasm movies, Bubba Hotep, is TERRIBLE! Its supposed to be comedy, but the characters are flat, the make up is awful, and the story goes all over the place. I highly suggest skipping over this movie.
In Sept, we might go to Las Vegas and hang out with Noel's parents who are coming over. One of the things they want to do is fly in a helicopter over the Grand Canyon. I've not been there since I was about six or seven or so. We went every year to Arizona to see my grandmother. The last time we went Arron was a baby baby, so 24 years. I've always wanted to actually go into the canyon and go rafting on the Colorado River. I'm hoping we take a trip that goes in and includes the river and lots of adventure. Besides all the things on the strip, I've not sure what there is to do in Vegas. Although, with the pirates and the light shows and the little europes, you could probably spend lots of time doing those things. I dont like to gamble though. In fact, I've never really done it. My Dad gave me a quarter for the slots when we passed through when I was 17. I kept it. He put his in and won 1.50 and I kept those too. I guess thats would have something to do with why I am an accountant. My mom used to joke I was the only child that could leave with 50 cents and come back with 5 dollars. I do like watching ppl in casinos though. I could spend hours doing that because there are so many odd ones running around doing strange things.
And speaking of being an accountant. I looked into taking the CPA exam. I need eight more classes. I could have had them all done by December, but I dont have the time, energy, or the money. So I've not registered for any. I might take an online Business Law course in the fall to at least make progress toward sitting for the test.
Hope things are well with everyone else!
