If you're going through hell, keep on goin'...

If you're scared don't show it
You might get out,
Before the Devil even knows you're there....'>

Soooo..... yeah. I'm back.

Though, I have to consider myself very VERY lucky. The trip was fun, it was a blast. I kept my friend outta trouble, since she is younger than me, so she's like a little sister.

We went all the way down to the ass-end of Texas... like 10 minutes away from the frickin Mexico border. It took us like 12 hours to get there.

Here's the fun part..... I totally forgot my FUCKING I.D.! Out of all things to forget...aside from my CD's XD (I had to listen to Emily's charv/crap-rap music...ugh) Yes... Neko is a dumbass. I was totally freaking out, since I figured that out by the time we were almost there.... I was so stressed out that I thought I could calm my nerves smoking a friggin' cigarette... er two. Yeah, I know, BAD...! Bleh! I hate smoking, why the hell did I ever pick that up? Thank goodness I've never been addicted, its a rotten habit...ROTTEN!!

Anyway... we got pulled over somewhere outside of Brownsville. By this time, I'm just praying that he didn't ask for my identification cuz then I'd be totally busted. Well... he did ask, of course I told him I didn't have it.... But, he asked me for my information and stuff, so that helped, and I didn't get in trouble.... Also helps that I can speak perfect English, lol!
Apparently we got pulled over for "failure to switch lanes"... wth? I've never heard anything like that before.... But my friend got off with just a warning... he didn't even bust us for the booze (that was already there) in the trunk.
Which brings me to why the hell two crazy young women travelled from one end of Texas to damn near Mexico...well. My young friend had some sort of feeling, or intuition that she needed to see this guy that she was involved with... I don't want to go into detail, cuz that is her business. But I went along, because I didn't want her going by herself, Brownsville can be a dangerous place to be...

So we stayed the night at a hotel... it was quite nice since I got absolutely no sleep throughout the trip... We did stop at one point so she could take a nap, but I managed to stay awake the entire time.... But we did get a good night's sleep there and eat a free breakfast there in the morning, so that was nice.

We left at around 10 am today, we made pretty good time because the trip back was much shorter. Even with a few more stops than last time and Austin traffic XD

On the way back though, we had to go through a border patrol in Kingsville... I was totally nervous at this point, because I was afraid I was gonna get deported to Mexico or something.... Ya know.. being Mexican, with no identification.... The officer asked us where we were going, and of course we told him. He looks right at me and asks me where I live, and I told him Fort Worth. He asked me for how long, and I said around 20 years..... He let us go.

When we left the border patrol, we both sighed in relief, "THANK YOU GOD!"
I almost had a heart attack... I couldn't believe I got out of that, he didn't ask either one of us for our id's.... freakin' crazy. I don't know what woulda happened if he did ask. I figured it was one of two things... 1. He realized I was Mexican, but didn't question me further because I speak perfect English or 2. the fact that I've been living in Texas for so long, there was no need for him to think I came straight outta Mexico or something.... has to be the first reason.

So the rest of the way, we were laughing about it all... And we returned back home safely. The End.

It was one of the most crazy experiences of my life so far, and I plan on doing it again! I so want to travel somewhere, by myself (better prepared, I promise!) or probably with someone like my little sister, since I know she loves to travel.

P.S.
the title/lyrics are from a country song that played on one of the radio stations on the way... I just kept thinking of it because it was so perfect for the moment.
