A Little Something Something

Prompt: Tea

A/N: pirategoddess and I decided to do a little writting tonight so we gave one another a prompt and started to type and write away. This is what I cam up with on my end. It was supposed to be short but my tiny little fingers got carried away...its like they have a mind of their own and have really really bad grammar.
The Tea Surprise
Jack noticed that the library door was slightly closed and there were voices coming from behind it. He recognized the female voice right away. Every time he heard her sweet voice his chest filled with bride and love. It took him a few minutes longer to recognize the second voice, a male voice. Jack tensed up whiling pushing the door open. He had to prepare himself before he came face to face with the person that his wife was once engaged to.
“Hello, there, Jack. This is a nice surprise, what brings you this way?” Jack asked Will.
Will took a sip of his tea before answering Jack, “ Oh I was just in the neighborhood and I thought I stop by and [ay a visit to my two good friends.” Both Elizabeth and Jack heard the sarcasm in Will’s voice.
“Yes, Jack I was just as surprised when Charles announced that Will was at the door. Jack would you like a cup of tea?” Elizabeth looked at Jack with eyes that begged him to be nice.
“No thank you love but I would like a glass of rum.” Jack walked to the sideboard and poured himself a nice portion of rum and finished the drink in two gulps.
“So Jack, tell me what you have been doing to keeping yourself busy? And please don’t tell me nothing, I know you could never keep away from the open sea.”
From the corner of his eye he saw Elizabeth place a hand over her slightly growing tummy; “To tell you the truth Will, I haven’t been out to sea for quite some time now. I have been enjoying time with Elizabeth here.
“Will you might as well hear it from us, you are going to find out sooner or later. Jack and I are going to have a baby.”
Will gave a sharp glance at Elizabeth. Just by the way he was looking at her, she knew that Will was thinking that there was a good possibility that the baby could be his. The last time they saw one another was two months ago when Jack was away.
Placing a hand on Jack’s arm, “Jack would you mind terribly if you left the room for a bit and let me talk to Will alone?”
Elizabeth knew Jack would be uncomfortable with the idea of her being alone with Will but she had to talk to him alone, she had to explain.
“I’ll be in the next room, just call for me when you need me.” Jack kissed Elizabeth passionately knowing how it would affect Will.
As soon as the door was closed behind Jack, “Will I know what you are thinking, that this baby could be yours but you have to believe me when I tell you that it is not. You see Will, the lat time we met I was wearing sponges which you know prevents conception from happening; so you see, there is no way that this baby is yours.
Will moved so he was sitting next to her, he took hold one of her hands, “Elizabeth, you know very will that those don’t always work. Answer me this Elizabeth, are you really happy? Do you still feel like you made the right choice?”
Elizabeth fought hard to hold back her tears, it took her a minute before she answered, “Yes Will I am truly happy. I love Jack with all my heart.”
“That’s all I wanted to hear Elizabeth. But I should tell you the real truth on why I am here. I wanted to tell you that I am engaged to be married.”
Her eyes went wide. Never had she thought that Will would get married so soon; granted she married Jack a few months after she called it off with Will but she always thought that Will would love her an no one else. “Oh I see. What is her name? Why haven’t you told me sooner?”
“Its Victoria, Elizabeth. You see we got to really know one another while she was helping me get over our engagement. She listened to me when I needed someone to listen to me. She comforted me when I need comforting.”
Elizabeth couldn’t help but feel a little upset that he would pick her of all people. This time she could not hold back her tears. “Oh Will why her? You know how I feel about her. You know perfectly well what she did to me while we were engaged-she tried to break us up from the very beginning.”
“I didn’t realize I needed your permission on who I wed.” Will got up from the couch and walked over to the window to look out at the rose garden.
They heard footsteps approaching the door; Elizabeth quickly wiped away her tears as Jack walked into the room. “Elizabeth is everything okay? I heard voices rising and then what seemed to be a sob. Did you already tell him the joyous news? How did he take it?”
“Yes I told him, he was very happy for us and congratulated us. I’m sorry to have worried you darling, you did hear a cry, a cry of joy; you see Will just informed me that he is engaged to be married to Victoria. Isn’t that great news?”
Will turned from the window to face Jack, “ Pray that the babe inherits the mother’s looks and not yours Jack.” Will walked to Jack and offered him his hand. “Well I must be off now. Victoria is waiting for me in the park.” Will bent down and kissed Elizabeth on the cheek. Before he pulled away he whispered in her ear, “I hope you are truly happy Elizabeth and remember no matter what my heart will always belong to you.” With those last words he walked out the door and out of her life forever.
