But it's actually impossible to read in a dream unless you know that you're dreaming.

I did know that! Though I am pretty sure I have read things in dreams. Especially signs.

But did the signs have coherant meaning that didn't change every time you looked away?

It's usually road signs or signs on buildings, hotels, or restaurants. So they mean something when I look at them but I don't look at them again.

Well if you look away then read them again and you're not lucid dreaming, the likelyhood of it saying the same thing is very, very low.

Are you left-handed, right-handed or ambidextrous?

Well, I have kind of an odd answer to that. I was born left-handed, but my mother, with every good intention, re-trained me to be right handed, so I am right handed now.

Okay, that makes sense. Reading is a function of the left-brain, while dreaming is a function of the right-brain. The fact that you were born left-handed (and thus right-brain dominant) but later became right-handed (thus forcing you to use your left-brain, too) would explain your ability to read in your dreams even without lucid dreaming.

Thanks Mom! I guess the terrible handwriting is worth it! *LOL*
