Dear Sun,

I don't know if you've heard lately, but you've been causing quite a bit of trouble. See, it's hot down here. I know you're doing what you do best and usually I'm all for that. And you're causing a lot of people a lot of trouble, and usually I'm all for that too. It's just that your enthusiasm now potentially might cause me a lot of trouble, so would you please read the following and consider?

See, there's a race comming up, and I'd really like to run it faster than 18 minutes. Wait! before you guffaw, the thing is, I've been training for a long time, training, you might be interested to know, to run that exact time. But under your radiant touch, I'm beggining to worry.

According to experts, every ten degrees over 75 works to reduce a runner's performance by twenty second a mile. Which means it needs to cool down. Think twnety degrees. That's what I need: 20 degrees. What do you think.

I have even better reasons why you might like to play the philanthopist. It's this Bucket List I've writen, a sheet on which I've consideratly placed 50 things I would like to accomplish before I die. And one of them might happen this afternoon. And you could help! 20 degrees I think would not be that difficult.

Are you worried that your glory would be decreased, that you have more muscle to flex? Well, each option has it's glory. I'm just saying you could do a great thing, and it's a thing I really would like done.

So please consider taking a break. You've been working hard recently and I hear the nether clouded regiouns are nice this time of day. Most appreciativly,

Desperate Runner
