He told me once over a fourth pitcher that he had invented a working hang-over cure, but it had some weird side-effects. I asked him how he tested it, and he just grinned. "What about early versions? What did they do to you?" At that point, he took off his high-tops and showed me his feet. His toes were webbed. "I wasn't born with webbed toes," he said.
