Those of you who know me, know that I worship Alton Brown and his Good Eats! program on FoodTV. Well, not so good news this morning from the internet. I got word from
TVSquad and Alton's own website that he had been "in a rather serious motorcycle accident. He hit a ditch near Las Vegas, got thrown off the bike, and broke his collarbone."
Alton's filming a new show called "Feasting On Asphalt" (how apropos) where he travels the country on his motorcycle and eats te best of roadside food. He apparently took the show's title a little too seriously. Here's what he had to say on his website:
I should heal just fine but I will have a nasty lump on my shoulder for the rest of my days. (Dang ... there goes that modeling career). To those ghouls out there who inquired as to whether or not the event was captured on camera you’ll be comforted to know that the crash will be featured in episode 4 of Feasting on Asphalt. But I have to warn you: it was a low charisma event. No flames, no smoke ... just a lot of dust and discomfort. -AB
Nice to hear that we'll actually see the accident on the show, that Alton's able to keep his humor about it and that its not going to put a halt to the show's airing. Alton is one of the reasons I enjoy cooking as much as I do, and hope he has a speedy recovery and gets back on basic cable as soon as possible.
