Seriously, I'm a woman, who loves to go on adventures. The man I love is an expert blacksmith, especially when it comes to weapons, and our best friend is a wanted pirate. Oh, and I'm now in a new time period with the man I love, and two wonderful friends.
I'm the only child of the gorvernor of Port Royal. I'm either too far above some ladies' stations or too far below what I should be aspiring to.
I think only my newest friend, Cordelia, would understand what I'm talking about.
When you're the only child of a powerful man, sometimes you don't get a choice in what you do. You're just expected to do it without question. Your father wishes you to do something, you're expected to do it without question. It doesn't matter if it isn't something you want to do or if it's the complete opposite of the person you are. Some things are just supposed to be adhered to without argument or question.
However, there comes a time when you cannot continue going along with the wishes of another person---especially when you know that those wishes are making you miserable inside.
Father wanted me to marry Commodore James Norrington. He's a good man and second in power only to my father. He's an excellent military mind, a flashy dresser...and so very wrong for me.
I chose to marry William Turner.
My father didn't take the news gracefully, and still attempts to talk me out of following my heart and into doing what it is that he wants me to do.
I'm not going to change my mind. Will is who I love with all of my heart and soul.
