I second the first comment in every way. It's the type of story that really grasps my interests, and I love things that explore gender roles.
Plus, it just sounds hilarious. Here's hoping Elliot enters the prestigious Female Main Characters Society (membership cards and rights to diva fits included)!
And isn't Lois Sachar just? <3 He's one of my favourite authors. And the first to show me that a chapter can consist of one page.
I love exploring gender rolls as well. And the idea of a completely heterosexual male (who identifies as male, not trans) who likes to be pretty appeals to me, as does the kind of woman it would take to be completely accepting and supportive of that.
*crosses fingers* We'll all rooting for you Elliot! Seriously, I don't know why I seem to have so much trouble writing women. Maybe I overthink it.
I think he was the first to show me that a chapter (or a story) can be anything I damn well want it to be. Including backwards. Or sideways.
Exactly. One line that already stands out in my head is Elliot saying about Jamie, "People always seem to think he's just confused or something, but he isn't. He's the least confused person I've ever met."

Maybe you're hyper critical of females, being one yourself? You just have a strong idea of the kind of girls you like.
I'd totally forgotten he'd done that. XD

That could be it.

I do it too, though I tend to have a lot of female characters despite it.

I'm trying to work on that.

You can overcome in it!
Wait, what? Stupid fever. xD

XD Aww, poor feverish. You feeling better?

A little. I've still got a pretty intense cough, but they're few and far in between.

Well that's good. You're getting better then.
