Well, I woke up and my dad called the vet's office where my baby was. She has anemia, on a scale of 1 to 10, she's a 9 because it affected her bone marrow. To get the transfusion she needs would cost $3000 dollars, and even then they said it would be more like a band-aid on the problem. So basically she's too sick to treat. I cried my heart out as soon as I heard this. We were going to take her to another hospital for a second opinion, but that won't be until Monday possibly. She's not in any pain the doctor said, she's just too weak to really do anything. She's still strong enough to walk and climb, she just needs to rest a lot after she does so. My poor kitty! :'-( So basically I've been sitting around the house with her, crying every time I look at her or think about it.
Charise was born on April 4th 1999 and was given to the Grosse Point Adoption Center along with her brothers Syd and Freddie. Shortly after my kitten Apollo passed away, my mom took my sis and I to the huge Garage Sale they have for the city. There was the Pet Adoption Center and my mom said to pick out a new kitten. I walked towards the cage with the smallest kitties, and looked at them all. I stuck my finger through the bars, and she was the first one to rub up against it and play with it. I went around the cage, and she was the only one to follow me around all the way, and so I asked if I could hold her. She wouldn't stop rubbing her face on me and didn't try to run or anything, so I picked her. At the time, she wasn't old enough to come home yet, so we had to wait a little over a month. I was so excited the day we came to pick her up! All the way home she couldn't stop meowing!
At first, my dad and sis didn't like her, because she made Oreo upset and I don't know why else. Sometimes I'd catch them yelling at her or scaring her on purpose. She was always very timid towards everyone except me, because she saw me as a mom I suppose. Every night when I went to bed, she'd try to follow me to my room, but she wasn't big enough to be let in the rest of the house yet. As soon as that day came, she slept the whole night in my room with me. She's been my one true best friend for the past 7 years and it's going to be hard to let go.
Those years went by and I can't even tell you all the cute, sometimes alarming and fun moments I've had with this kitty. Boy, I'm sure going to miss her a lot. I hope that I can make her last few days here comfortable and full of as much love as possible. I also hope she'll be as excited to see me when I get to Heaven as the day I picked her out and took her home. I LOVE YOU CHARISE!
