S&M, sadism and masochism, may be sexual or non-sexual terms. Depending on to which it applies, it varies; someone who enjoys to inflict pain, it doesn't mean they'd be sexually aroused at that, it may be that they simple like to do it or only just like to see the other person's expression. It may involve love or not; you also don't have sex just because of love anyway.
