Disco's best friend's wife left him a while back. The divorce was finalized a few weeks ago. Both of them have been seeing other people for a couple of months. Today, I find out that her new boyfriend hit her because he thought she was cheating on him. Not like a "impulse smack," but a "raise the hand, pause to think it through, then go for it smack."
As much as I'm annoyed with her for cutting and running from Disco's best friend, it pains me to hear of her doing so poorly in her next relationship. She claims it's over, and that he knew right well that hitting her would be the only thing she wouldn't stand for (he apparently has self-destructive tendencies), but I'm afraid she's going to announce next that they've worked it out.
