Book meme 'cause I'm fucking lame

1. Which book has been on your shelves the longest?
Probably the Lord of the Rings trilogy, haha. Or Alice in Wonderland.

2. What is your current read, your last read and the book you’ll read next?
Current - Columbine by Dave Cullen
Last - Lowboy by John Wray
Next - I want to read Jurassic Park but I can't find it anywhere, wtf.

3. What book did everyone like and you hated?
A Heartbreaking Work of Staggering Genius. :/

4. Which book do you keep telling yourself you’ll read, but you probably won’t?
A pile of fantasy books that my cousin is dying for me to read, lol. They've been sitting there for months.

5. Which book are you saving for “retirement?”
Moby Dick.

6. Last page: read it first or wait till the end?
I wait until the end unless it's a really terrible book.

7. Acknowledgements: waste of ink and paper or interesting aside?
I rarely read them.

8. Which book character would you switch places with?
Someone from Harry Potter, haha

9. Do you have a book that reminds you of something specific in your life (a person, a place, a time)?
Pretty much all of them.

10. Name a book you acquired in some interesting way.
I stole a book called The Chosen from school. Oops.

11. Have you ever given away a book for a special reason to a special person?
Not intentionally, lol. I've lent books and not gotten them back... :c

12. Which book has been with you to the most places?
Probably the A - Z Encyclopedia of Serial Killers

13. Any “required reading” you hated in high school that wasn’t so bad ten years later?
Er, I'm still in high school. Most of the books we've read have been pretty awesome anyway - Animal Farm, Night, Beloved, Adventures of Huckleberry Finn.

14. What is the strangest item you’ve ever found in a book?
Well, when I checked out the Piercing Bible from the library I found the little ticket/receipt thing from the last person who had checked it out and the only other item they'd checked out with it was a Hannah Montana DVD. I found that to be a strange combination.

15. Used or brand new?
Either.

16. Stephen King: Literary genius or opiate of the masses?
The only book of his I really liked was Pet Semetary. I read a few others and they were so excessively lengthy that they felt pointless by the end. Oh, Carrie was good too. But yeah, it's really hit and miss.

17. Have you ever seen a movie you liked better than the book?
Fight Club. The book was decent, but the movie was so much better. And the fact that the book was even decent is amazing because Chuck Palahniuk generally sucks, haha

18. Conversely, which book should NEVER have been introduced to celluloid?
The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. And Where the Wild Things Are looked great but ended up being so indulgently nihilistic, wow. That was disappointing. :[

19. Have you ever read a book that's made you hungry, cookbooks being excluded from this question?
Any book in which food is described in an appetizing way, haha. I'm pretty susceptible to hunger.

20. Who is the person whose book advice you’ll always take?
No one really. I don't know too many people who read anyway.
