At the request of a fan I present an all you need to know guide to the difference between Neighbours and Home & Away.
In Neighbours it can rain and storm and people just get wet. In H&A when it rains - someone is going to die. In the last 7 rainy patches 11 people have drowned. What a record huh!
In both soaps sex before marriage is so taboo it leads to death. Usually the mother's but occassionally in a bizarre twist of fate the father's.
In H&A they can say "have sex". In Neighbours they talk of "making a committment". A sign of a basic confusion or something deeper?
Neighbours actors work full time. In H&A each actor works only 3 days a week. Which explains why they build up a story line, reach a peak and then never really tell you what happens. In Neighbours the episode after the cliffhanger car crash scene would show the victims being cut out of a car, the reaction of the relatives, the doctor fighting for their lives.... In H&A the only way you will ever find out who died is when 2 unrelated characters ask each other about it 2 days later.
Rape victims will only remain angry at their attackers for 2 natural diasters/life threatening incidents. They will then have more stressful things to think about.
Life altering events happen every other day.
In H&A due to it being launched to promote fostering NO-ONE can be raised by their own parents. Even those characters you believe are residing in nuclear families will turn out to have been switched at birth...
So now you know.
