State of the union (sorry, I couldn't resist): 31 stars done as of this picture, and I've completed all I can using a hoop*, so I was documenting my progress before mounting this piece in my scroll frame. The next time I see it laid out flat like this, it will be done! I had to trim down the long sides and add extra fabric to the short ones to get it mounted correctly, but now it's working great. I got another two stars filled over the weekend, so I'm 2/3 done!
*See the weird clusters of stars? That's what shows in the hoop at one time. I can't do it all that way because I don't want to crush any completed stars in the edge of the hoop.
I'm not in love with them... they sure are loud and the colors pooled oddly and obscure my lace leaves, but hey, not bad for my first pair of socks for me.
