How did you learn to do the things that you do?
Were you taught by a friend or relative? Did you learn by doing? Did you receive formal education (and please differentiate between high school, college, trade school, etc.)? Did you read a book? Another method?
And by "the things that you do" I mean career/day job as well as artistic endeavors, hobbies and other pursuits.

photography: one formal class (B&W film) in college, otherwise learned by doing
self-publishing: learned by doing
painting: learned by doing
mothering: taught by mom, learned by doing
