Panda head done - my first machine applique ever. I think it came out rather well, though it was a learning experience and there are definitely some things I'll do differently next time. Now I'm on to the quilting (following the outlines of the bamboo stalks) and then finishing.
We also got started on the mural over the weekend. I primed the wall, and then Sean went crazy painting in the rough outlines and the darkest colors. It's looking really cool. He's having such a fun time painting, and I'm having such a fun time quilting (and at the same time keeping Otto out of the paint zone) that we decided he can paint the whole thing. It's my design, but in his style, so if I stepped in to paint now, it wouldn't work very well anyhow.
