Well, we wound up voting after all.
After everything that happened in the Handy/Green race, I got a call from the Rob Handy people at 1:15 yesterday, reminding me to vote and telling me the location of the nearest ballot drop box and even helpfully offering to come out to my house and pick up the ballot. I cannot figure out where they got my phone number. Since getting this cell phone (three years ago), I have never given my phone number out to anyone who doesn't need it. Friends, family and service providers (doctors, et al.) have my number. Anyone else who asks for it gets my email and I tell them I don't have a phone. I have never gotten one marketing or political cold call until yesterday. I came home and told Sean, "that's it, I'm voting for Bobby Green, and I'm going to make the Handy people come out to our house to pick up the ballot." I knew I was mostly joking when I said it, and that I wasn't really going to do it. And then they called me again. So I voted for Green, and Sean voted for Green, and Rob Handy's staffer made sure our votes got in.
But neither one of them got over 50% of the votes, so we'll get to sit through another round of this shit between now and November.
